Biographical history
Admiral Finch-Noyes was a Canadian naval officer from 1926 to 1982. He served as Flag Officer Pacific Coast from 1960 to 1962, was Executive Officer on HMCS Prince Henry in 1943 and commanded HMCS Prince Robert in 1943.

Fonds consists of a typed letter addressed to Rear Admiral E.W. Finch-Noyes recounting the writer's experience of the near sinking of the HMCS Grilse in 1916 and a newspaper clipping from 1916 that states that Grilse and all men are believed to be lost.
Also includes commissioning booklets of HMCS Saquenay, Skeena, Margaree, and Chaudiere, dating from 1956, 1957, and 1959, and a programme for the presentation of the Queen's Colour to the Royal Canadian Navy by Her Majesty the Queen in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Saturday 1 August 1959.
